Bagus Surf

Quicky

Could not stand being out of the water any longer.  Headed to DH for a quick jump in.  Calm morning until the onshore brought another massive black could in.  Not much to speak of, bumping and funky, but heck I got wet, caught one or two waves.  Toru was out on a monster 11 foot Christensen swallow tail, super flat, no V.  Now it is raining an heavy drizzle.. another good day to work.  Dreaming of surf.

Hiatus

Long break.. lots of startup work.  Did get out for a surf Sat at courts, but never did find anything amazing.  It was fun, but super crowded and I was getting beat on waves by all the longboarders.  There was a nice south swell in this past weekend, but now the winds are back and rain rain rain.  Mr. Hughes has been asking for pics.. here's some for your viewing pleasure.

Surf Day Saturday

Managed to get out Saturday for a surf day.  South swell in town, but the winds were crazy strong.  Headed out to Tongs/Rice Bowls in the morning, but the tide was a bit high.  Had fun chasing the peaks, but almost got blown off my board a couple of times.  I bet it was nicer deeper into town, but the poo water and crowds kept me away.  DH was actually not bad as there was a bit of north in the winds.  Came home to eat and Mark called, so back out on the new 6'6" Rawson for a session at Rice Bowls.  Too late, missed the low tide and caught a fast rising flood tide.  Bummer.. a couple fun rides, but definitely not what the guys were riding earlier.  It was freezing... brrrr.  Hope you all got some!

South Swell coming

Swell on the way to the southshore.  If this stormy weather passes, could be a super fun weekend for us weekend warriors.  I guess I don't even count, more of a monthly warrior.  I did sneak out for a 30 min standup surf session last night.  Was a bit tough as the trades kicked up a bit as I got out.  The Munoz surftech is so light it just bounces around when there's any wind at all.  But get ready for a maddening crowded lineup this weekend as folks I am sure are pent up to surf after the week of rain.  Wave galore I hope!

Glassy but flat

Jonesing for a surf this morning so  headed out early noticing it has been calm all night.  Got to DH and it was super glassy, almost oily sea surface, but hardly anything worth surfing.  Pretty unorganized and frumping here and there.  I am sure there's good surf somewhere on the island, probably Eastside, but with the little time I have for surf, I had to make the call to save it for another day.  So back in the car and back to work.  Hope you all got a little surf smack this morning.
