Looks like  windy mess for surf in town.  But maybe with the NE swell something in the country?  Offshores for sure today.  Lani's?  Someone somewhere is having a blast today and I applaud them.  Go catch a wave for me.

Rawson

Finally got a chance to take the new Rawson 6'6" swallow tail out on Saturday to Aina's.  Heard it was probably much better in town, but was nice to not battle a crowded lineup for waves.  Nothing special, and a bit of a lull between sets, but good to get back in the water.  The new Rawson is super fast and I didn't even have a hard time getting into waves.  Arms are sore, but I am going to really enjoy this shortboarding thing.  Lots of waves in town for this time of year, but the water is pretty pooish.

Eastside action

Heard there's action on the eastside.  Funky weather leaving us with very little surf in da country.  Rained all night at my house, but seems to be dry elsewhere.  Surf where you can today!  I am hoping to get out this Sat for a surf if I can find something.

Sunny day

Rained crazy hard last night with lightning and other natural pyrotechnics.  This morning it is beautiful and sunny, but I am sure major brown nasty runoff around the island.  Not much swell to speak of, but supposedly the first south swell of the year is on the way for this weekend.  Wow.. really that early?  Surfing good waves, is there much else better?  Maybe snuggling with your lover....

Bye bye swell

Say goodbye to the north swell for a while as surf finally takes a week off.  I am sure many of you have tons of work and other chores to catch up on from months of continuous surf.  We are even going to get a small southshore bump this weekend.  What is the world coming to?  A bit of surf I hope.  Rainy and windy outside, feels like winter.

DH

Made it out for a quick paddle at DH.  No winds, perfect calm morning with an amazing sunrise over the haze.  Fantastic time in the water, enough rides to put a smile on my face.  Took out the Takayama ITP and was quickly tired trying to get into the little waves coming through here and there.  A couple regulars asked where I had been, hard to describe, so just said I was off island for work.  Did manage to meet the guy who bought my Cooperdesigns... told him if he ever sold it I was interested.  I guess he has tons of boards.  Anyways, nice calm before the storm.  Looks like the rain either missed us or is super late.

Please the crowd

Big storm coming later today... couldn't tell now as it is sunny and nice outside.  Was hoping to surf this weekend, but who knows... hope you are getting some today.  Aloha, surfing, and waves, that's good.

Yesterday was a big day.. our splash page for the new company went live and we are accepting people for our beta testing group.  You can check it out at chipin.com, not much there, not even a logo yet, but we are working on that.  Surf is probably great everywhere, but I got to keep making a push.  So here's something to keep you all busy...

Maui surfing!

Had a great session on Maui yesterday at a spot normally reserved for kiteboarders and windsurfers.  We had a fun morning in the super calm conditions with head high waves rolling through.  Lots of rights holding up for me on my Kiwi 10'6".  The boys all came out on their standup surfboards, almost seven of them all together.  It was a sight to see for sure!  It was nice to finally get in the water and catching some waves.  Nice long smooth walls to work up and down.  all good!  and now I have a beat up 12 foot munoz and a broken standup paddle to use in Honolulu.  watch out!  went out to watch the whales this morning on a 13 foot standup board and ended up paddling over 5 miles in super glassy conditions outside of Kihei.  what a great weekend of work and play.  Now back to the grind!
