in between day
Got out today in between rain and trades. Beautiful morning at DH. Me and Big Red.. we had a fun morning. Ran into Lora and Fanny in the water. Winds picked up around 8 as things began to fall apart. Lots of water moving with the tide and light trades. Out by 9 and back at the work thing. Good day to be alive.

surf and soccer
Had my old man's soccer game this morning, so headed out with the Martinson for a quick DP before our 8:30 a.m. game. Not the same as yesterday, but is it ever? Swell backed off a bit and defnitely not as super clean. Lots of folks on it early with fewer waves made the day a little furstrating for folks. Only hung out about an hour before heading to my game. I can feel a consistent and big summer swell season coming!

Big Red.... yum
Big Red and I at DH... a great combination. Hit it early around 6:45 a.m. with an already crowded parking lot. No wind, glassy, small swell and mid tide. It was just a glorious morning. Overcast, but many waves to be had. Riding rights all morning, hang time galore and lots of fun folks in the water. Met Terry and Jodie. Fading lefts, bottom turn rights, dangle to the nose. Can't imagine any more fun to be had on a log. Get out... will try to get Hampig out this afternoon.

Jalama and SC
Headed down to Jalama with da boys and their ladies this past weekend. Not much in the way of surf, but the potential was definitely there. The first day Free, Kaya and I jumped in about 20 mins walk south of the camp spot. We had a good chance to play around with the new CI singlefins. Tuesday we all hiked a ways down the beach south and found a nice right point break called Tarantula. Didn't have our boards, but it looked like a nice longboard point. The winds in Jalama were howling, with sand everywhere, but the weather was pretty nice during the day with sun shining. On our way home we stopped to check out turtles just north of Pismo and also another spot just south. A couple of local guys said when the tied dropped later in the afternoon, the place was going to be schweet. We didn't have time to wait so headed north for a lunch in SLO then arrived at 38th around 5:30 pm. Quickly got the logs set up and in the water for some very fun chest high rights all the way into the beach. It was a 2.1 low, just perfect! And a nice swell in town. The flood lights from Oneill's house came on as he paddled out, so we had a grand ol time until about 7:45. It was a nice session to end a fun trip.

CI Singlefin
Da boys (Free, BC, T) and I cruised down from SF looking for surf. Another beautiful day to cap a two week heat wave in NorCal. We passed up on OB and super crowded Lindy and finally settled for a beachbreak all to ourselves down at Dunes. It was a beautiful sunny day as we were waxing up the boards then the fog rolled up from the south sooo thick you could hardly see the waves. We got out there and had a great time pitching and rolling on our new CI singlefins. T also broke out his new Miller and had a rockin time paddling into waves and dropping in late and ripping across the rights. Just good to be out with the boys. Brrr... cold.

Workout
Windy, howling winds blowing through townyesterday. No chance for a decent surf as the swell was 0 on the southshore. Go for a run.. nah.. paddled out at DH on the shorty to get wet and get a small workout before heading to NorCal this weekend to surf with Free and gang. The lower back is a bit small, not used to the large arch necessary to get a small board around like that.

TWW, not enough W
Tide, winds, and waves are key ingrediants for a great session. Today at DH with Big Red we had T and W, but needed about another foot of W. Conditions were perfect, glassy, warm, sunny, but just not enough umph in the water. Did managed to get a couple of good rides.... well ok, many rides on the big board. Always fun to be in the water especially with rain and wind supposedly coming in tomorrow morning.
It did not look like this today
